Professional experience with GIS
concepts, design methods and best practices Experience and
familiarity with GIS software including Esri software suite
(ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, -and ArcCatalog), Google Earth,
QGIS, CAD, and/or other relevant spatial softwareGeoreferencing,
projections and data/database creationModern and complex principles
and practices of record keeping and project management -Education:
Bachelor's in Geography, Geographic
Information Systems, a related field with a specialty in GIS; or a
GIS Certificate program from an accredited college or university;
or equivalent work experience -Job Description/Position Tasks:
Maintains, updates and modifies GIS
maps and data to maintain critical access to information regarding:
planning, water, sanitation, streets and roads, land use, land
ownership, natural resourcesCreates and documents GIS processes and
procedures.Discovers, analyzes, digitizes, and archives historic
documentation and maps as necessary.Responsible for creating,
developing and maintaining GIS databases, performing data creation,
and cartography using ArcGISProcesses, analyzes and catalogs
recorded plats and surveys; uses georeferencing and other spatial
tools to update and improve the accuracy of county GIS
dataCollaborates with external agencies on special projects, report
preparations and GIS presentations.Receives direction from
Community Planning and Development leadership to pursue
organizational priorities and goalsCreates maps and mapping tools
to help staff and the public interpret and visualize spatial
dataMaintains current knowledge of trends and developments in the
geographic information systems field for application to
