Steamboat Ski & Resort is looking for carpentry help for their upcoming construction season. Experience and skill sets will determine level and wage. Must have one (1) year experience in the general building industry as a carpenter. Must have a valid drivers license and provide own set of hand tools.

Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:

  • Will assist in maintenance and construction-related works
  • Will be required to work under the supervision of a skilled carpenter/supervisor and follow all standard safety regulations while completing tasks
  • Measure materials or distances as assigned, using square, measuring tape, or rule to lay out work
  • Mark cutting lines on materials, as directed
  • Assemble and fasten material together to construct wood or metal framework of structure, using bolts, nails, or screws
  • Must provide own small hand tools (tool belt, hammer, etc.)
  • Clean work site of any tools, debris and equipment
  • Cut or saw boards, timbers, or plywood to required size, using handsaw, power saw, or woodworking machines
  • Skill level and experience will determine wage and carpenter level
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum skills, experience, education and ability required for this job:

  • One (1) year experience in the general building industry as a carpenter
  • Framing experience, preferred
  • Other trade experience, helpful
  • Ensure understanding and compliance with all company policies and procedures and safety guidelines
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Companys Service Excellence standards

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must stand for long periods of time
  • Work outdoors in an ever-changing construction environment, often in inclement weather
  • Must lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must read and write and communicate verbally in the English language
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet insurability standards

Miscellaneous information:

  • Position will be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • This is an hourly non-exempt position and is subject to overtime pay
  • Pursuant to county and/or state orders and company policies, every employee is required to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms, practice social distancing, wash hands frequently, wear a mask per current guidelines, self-report and call in immediately and stay home if sick and assist with sanitizing and disinfecting work areas. Employees must follow all resort mitigation plans and protocols, which can be found posted on resort buildings and on Beekeeper

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporations total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat area base hourly pay range: $19.00 - $34.00 per hour
