Position Summary: The Payroll Specialistwill work directly with payroll resources at the skilled nursing facilities operated by Cascadia Healthcare, the accounting team, the human resources team and our external payroll and timekeeping providers to ensure accurate and timely processing of the company's payroll. Note: All employees of Cascadia Healthcare are required to submit and be cleared to work per each state's specific background check requirements. QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Licenses/Certification: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred. Experience: At least twoyears of multi-site, payroll-related experience. Essential Functions Perform daily payroll department operations. Processbi-weekly payroll for several multi-state facilities. Reviewemployee time cards and change forms in an accurate and timely manner. Review and process payroll adjustments, including vacation, PTO, sick, or other time off. Enteremployee, payroll, or benefit changes into the company system(s). Audit payroll information for accuracy. Process garnishment calculations and maintain compliance. Validate bonus payments, insurance premiums, and other payroll earnings and deductions. Reconcile errors and maintain payroll records. Train and work with field HR/Payroll Designated employees to process payroll each pay period. Respond to payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies, as required. Maintain knowledge of rules and laws which govern the payroll administration practices. P articipate in problem-solving and special projects within the Payroll department. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Proven experience as a payroll specialist preferred, with a solid understanding of payroll best practices. Proficient in MS Office, with good knowledge of Excel. Knowledge of payroll software; Paylocity and Kronos a plus. Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills and desire to be a team player. Strong customer-service focus, work ethic and commitment.
