qualifications will not be considered. Deliver specialized patient
care in a dynamic stepdown nursing role within a 30-bed unit
focused on neuro, stroke, respiratory, and general medical cases.
This contract opportunity supports registered nurses with a minimum
of one year of experience, welcoming those new to travel nursing.
The team handles patient ratios typically around 1:5 and
occasionally 1:6, ensuring attentive care in a fast-paced
environment. Location Overview: Based in Louisville, KY, this
assignment offers the chance to work in a vibrant city known for
its rich history and cultural attractions, including the Kentucky
Derby. Louisville provides an inviting community with diverse
dining, outdoor activities, and a strong healthcare network. Key
Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive stroke assessments and
cardiac rhythm interpretation. Manage IV starts, oxygen delivery,
and non-continuous BiPAP treatments. Administer drips such as
Amiodarone, Cardizem, iron infusions, and heparin. Collaborate with
interdisciplinary support including PCAs, HUCs, RTs, hospitalists,
and intensivists. Utilize electronic medical record systems
(Cerner) and operate advanced equipment like Phillip monitors and
Plum 360 IV pumps. Participate in patient movement protocols
including overseeing Tele monitoring during procedures like MRI.
Float to other mixed acuity units as needed to maintain care
continuity. Qualifications and Experience: Active RN license with
at least 1 year of clinical experience. Certifications required:
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Proficient in stroke assessments, cardiac
monitoring, and IV medication administration. Comfort and
experience working with various patient acuities and
interdisciplinary teams. Schedule and Work Environment: Shifts:
6:45 AM7:15 PM and 6:45 PM7:15 AM with strict clock-in times.
Weekend rotation every third week; holiday rotations include major
winter and summer holidays. Self-scheduling with block options,
subject to unit needs. No on-call duties. Scrub color: Galaxy Blue
