Location: UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies, Loveland, CO
Position Type: Full-Time, Nocturnist – Overnight Trauma and Acute
Care Surgery Overview: UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies, a
premier Level II trauma center located in Loveland, Colorado, is
seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join
our Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team. This role offers an
excellent opportunity to deliver advanced surgical care during
overnight shifts, contributing to the well-being of critically
injured patients in a reputable and collaborative healthcare
environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive overnight
coverage (7 PM to 7 AM) for Trauma and Acute Care Surgical
patients. Conduct thorough patient assessments, order and interpret
diagnostic tests, and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
Manage trauma and emergency general surgery cases across inpatient
settings with minimal supervision. Assist surgeons with procedures
and participate actively in ongoing patient management. Collaborate
effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians,
nurses, and support staff. Document all clinical encounters and
interventions accurately in the Epic EMR system. Ensure compliance
with hospital bylaws, privileging requirements, and safety
protocols. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and
adhere to performance standards to optimize patient outcomes.
Engage in UCHealth’s mentorship and leadership development
programs, along with continuous professional education.
Qualifications: Current Nurse Practitioner license with valid
certification in Colorado (or eligible forlicensure). Certification
from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Basic Life
Support (BLS) certification. Board certification in Nurse
Practitioner specialization. Valid DEA registration. Minimum of two
(2) years of trauma or emergency surgical experience; surgical
fellowship completion is highly preferred. No recent graduates;
candidates must demonstrate substantial experience in trauma care.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced,
high-acuity environment. Commitment to delivering high-quality,
patient-centered care. Prior experience with Epic EMR is preferred
but not required. VMS Certification Requirements: ANCC
Certification BLS Certification Board Certification in Nurse
Practitioner specialty DEA Registration Additional Information: No
travel or locum assignments; this is a permanent position. UCHealth
clears names system-wide; all candidates undergo thorough
background checks. Visa sponsorship and work visa support are not
available; only candidates with current work authorization.
Candidates must have a minimum of two years of relevant trauma
surgery experience; new graduates are not considered. Compensation
& Benefits: Annual salary range: $136,822 – $179,379, commensurate
with experience. Potential annual incentive up to $10,000 through
the Quality Value Incentive Plan (QVIP). Relocation assistance up
to $10,000 for eligible candidates. Fully paid malpractice
insurance coverage. CME allowance up to $3,500 annually, plus 5 CME
days. Retirement plans including a 403(b) with employer match and
