VISION OF THE ROLE:

Develop customer plans for Danone North America business by segment that meets the top-down targets and executional targets and represents the needs of the customer. Bridge the company strategy to fit with the customer strategy and priorities in order to achieve sustainable, profitable growth. Manage customer plan for the short, medium, and long-term. Understand Danone NA context at the customer(s) and plan towards addressing the opportunities with the customer(s) given that context.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* DEVELOP CUSTOMER LEVEL PLANS BY SEGMENT TO DO THE BOTTOMS-UP BUILD FOR COMMERCIAL PLANNING

* Facilitate annual planning process and prepare key hand-offs

* Gather critical customer information/agenda to build a robust customer plan (e.g., current business development opportunities, innovation, operational execution, assortment variations, exclusive SKUs, etc.)

* Act as liaison between sales, brand marketing, sales finance, and supply chain to ensure our planning process and customer execution is in line with strategic brand and category objectives

* Work with the customer teams to build customer specific plans with the guidance provided by Trade Marketing and BUs while acknowledging customer specific needs includes specific trade/shopper events; volume, gross sales, net sales, trade rates; new product launches that fall within reset windows, etc.

* Coordinate refinements to the customer plans as iterations occur to resolve gaps to BU targets problem solve with regional Customer Planning Managers

* Maintain a total enterprise view; set agenda/prioritization of initiatives based off of company strategy

* Perform full promotion plan annual management (vs. event / incremental funding approval)

* Oversee that all plans are accurately input into Trade Promotion Management system (and customer contracts are created to match plans that were aligned to)

* EXECUTE AGAINST THE PLANS

* Represent customer voice in other internal meetings

* Develop and improve tools needed to maintain an accurate and dynamic sales forecast

* Collaborate with account teams to ensure that sales forecast is properly recorded and that incremental programs are executed as planned

* Own key local processes, demand reviews and annual planning, represent the customer POV in the demand reviews as part of the S&OP process

* Work with sales finance and demand planning to reconcile top-down and bottom up forecasts

* Support CBMs/sales in managing and enhancing the P&L for the customer business

* Guide and define parameters to help CBMs reach their fundamental KPIs

* Measure sales program and customer level event effectiveness/performance by calculating ROI, incremental sales, shipments, markdowns, and other metrics and relay insights to appropriate teams

* PROVIDE SUPPORT AND STRATEGIC THINKING AT CUSTOMER TO HEADQUARTERS/KEY ACCOUNT TEAM MEMBERS

* Lead mid to long-term strategic thinking at customers and leverage Danone NA resources to support out-of-the-box ideas, private label, customization, etc.

* Participate in short-term strategic thinking to drive volume at specific customers work with Trade Marketing, key account team, and sales leadership on the micro-planning process to meet targets

* Develop quality sales collateral to support field force and communicate priorities

* Align with sales team on broker priorities and look for opportunities to re-evaluate use of brokers

* Provide support to sales teams like developing customer presentations

* PROVIDE BEST-PRACTICE INSIGHTS BACK TO CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

* Share success stories and opportunities with Center of Excellence

* Provide feedback to Director of PRGM and Planning on customer specific needs



QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidate will have:

* 4 year college degree in Business or related field (Finance, etc.)

* 1-3 years progressive experience in sales/marketing at a CPG company

* Field management and key account management experience is a plus

* Prior experience managing people and relationships with retailer partners

* Excellent analytical skills and advanced knowledge of MS Excel necessary

* Travel 10%
