DESCRIPTION:

As a member of the properties Executive Committee, the Director of
Commercial Strategy is a highly visible role with exposure to
Senior and Corporate leadership.
The Director of Commercial Strategy (DCS) has direct oversight of
the hotel Sales and Marketing, Revenue Management, Events and
Marketing functions of the hotel. This position leads hotel level
sales, revenue, events and marketing personnel, as a team, to
effectively carry out the strategies to ensure the hotel meets
company goals and maximizes hotel revenue. The starting salary for
this role will be $175k. Actual total compensation will be
determined based on experience.
REPORTS TO: The DCS position reports to the Hotel General Manager
with oversight from the Regional Revenue and Sales Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
--- Develop the annual business plan and oversee execution of
tactics.
--- Sales and Marketing P&L management
--- Revenue forecasting and development of both short term and long
term business strategies. Ensuring accurate annual revenue budgets
and monthly forecasts are produced that support revenue goals of
the hotel and outgrow the competition.
--- Training and supervision of; sales managers, events managers,
revenue manager and marketing Manager.
--- Assign responsibility and quantifiable goals to Director level
reports and ensure performance aligns with hotel strategy.
--- Ensure the entire revenue team of the hotel fully participates
in carrying out the strategies to ensure each revenue generating
department of the hotel is successful.
--- Build and foster relationships with managers in sales,
catering, revenue and marketing to create an effective revenue team
at the hotel.
--- Oversee the production and execution of a marketing plan for
the hotel and ensure marketing efforts are evaluated for their
effectiveness in driving revenue.
--- Act as the senior customer facing representative for all
current and prospective clients, including, but not limited to site
inspections and customer entertainment.
--- Interface and build relationship with ownership and asset
management to highlight current performance and future
positioning.
--- Develop tactics using sound revenue management and commercial
strategy that increase ancillary (outlet, recreation, A/V, golf,
spa, etc.) revenues.
--- Lead public relations strategies and hotel activations
--- Participate in community relations efforts in conjunction with
the hotel Leadership Committee
