Job Description:
Description The position is responsible for leading member
flexibility program updates and initiatives, directly working with
Member System CEOs and staff on projects within applicable
programs, and taking a leading role for the Energy Management
department on regulatory and corporate initiatives. This role will
be capable of directly offloading high-level work streams from
current Energy Management Vice President and Senior Manager staff.
The successful candidate will work closely with other Energy
Management department leaders to manage and support regulatory,
corporate, organized market and member program efforts. Tri-State

Benefits. Deputy of Energy Initiatives Hiring Salary Range:
$135,000-$175,000 Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary
outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work
experience, education, and/or skill level. Responsibilities Oversee
key projects for member systems under member flexibility programs
as assigned by Energy Management department leadership. • Develop
and manage workstreams, leveraging cross-functional teams, for
projects related to member flexibility programs, corporate
initiatives, and regulatory initiatives as assigned by Energy
Management department leadership. • Coordinate responses to ad hoc
member inquiries to the Energy Management department regarding
member flexibility programs. • Coordinate responses to ad hoc
developer inquiries to the Energy Management department regarding
potential projects and/or project acquisition opportunities. •
Oversee the program management of organized market protocol and
tariff impacts on functions in the Energy Management department in
the areas of Planning & Analytics and Regulatory & Origination.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintain compliance with all
company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring
continuous, reliable electric service. • Attain knowledge and
remain knowledgeable of development in regulations, laws, standards
and best practices applicable to the functional area including, but
not limited to, Standards of Conduct, Environmental, Employment
Law, NERC Reliability Standards and Safety. Must be familiar with,
and comply with, all aspects of Corporate Policy C-54, Compliance.

organized market development, and NERC/FERC and WECC requirements
and be capable of developing conceptual and technical solutions. •

priorities across projects and programs and work cooperatively with
leadership and staff to meet project and program objectives at a
rigorous pace and volume. • Time management: Coordinate the efforts
and contributions of internal and external resources to develop
overall solutions involving economic, technical and operational

the ability to write reports, draft contracts, and work clearly and
effectively with internal and external legal staff. • Excellent
presentation skills are required for communication of project and

Qualifications Education and Training: BS/BA in Project Management,
Engineering, Business, Public Administration, or related
discipline, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability: Proven experience in leading,
supervising and managing complex projects within cross-functional
teams. Ability to analyze complex regulatory, financial and
technical information and to develop related solutions. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to serve
as a liaison between multiple departments and external
stakeholders. General knowledge of regional markets, power supply
resources, and transmission systems, including the effects of
developing organized markets. Working knowledge of power system and
generation economic modeling. Ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships both internal and external. Ability
to communicate effectively, both verbal and written. Must be able
to demonstrate that he or she can perform all essential functions
of the position Other: Willingness to travel when needed to attend
training, conferences and meetings. (Must possess a valid driver’s
license.) DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Five years of experience in
managing complex, deadline driven projects or initiatives with a
diverse set of stakeholders. Basic proven ability to understand
utility tariffs for programs and rates Experience in using program
or project management tools Project Management Professional
certification is desired
